Geotechnical engineering for the West Haven Place development — subsurface exploration with pavement and foundation recommendations
Scope
Geotechnical engineering for the West Haven Place development — subsurface exploration with pavement and foundation recommendations
Site Challenge
A new development on Houston-area clay needs foundation recommendations that account for seasonal soil movement and pavement sections that will carry construction and resident traffic without early failure.
Work Performed
Quartet Engineers performed subsurface exploration across the West Haven Place site, drilling and sampling borings and testing the soils in its A2LA-accredited laboratory. The engineering team used the results to develop foundation recommendations for the structures and pavement recommendations for the development's streets and drives.
Deliverables
A sealed geotechnical engineering report with boring logs, laboratory results, foundation recommendations and pavement section recommendations for West Haven Place.
