Geotechnical engineering for The Paragon Place multi-building complex (Phase 1) — borings, UU/laboratory testing, and foundation design recommendations.
Scope
Geotechnical engineering for The Paragon Place multi-building complex (Phase 1) — borings, UU/laboratory testing, and foundation design recommendations.
Site Challenge
A multi-building complex places several structures with different loads and footprints on one site, so the foundation recommendations had to work building by building rather than as a single answer for the whole parcel. Phase 1 had to be characterized well enough that later phases could build on the same investigation.
Work Performed
Quartet Engineers drilled soil borings across the Phase 1 building areas, logged and sampled the subsurface, and ran unconsolidated-undrained triaxial and classification testing in its A2LA-accredited laboratory. The engineering team then developed foundation design recommendations for the Phase 1 buildings from the field and laboratory data.
Deliverables
A sealed geotechnical engineering report covering boring logs, laboratory results and foundation design recommendations for The Paragon Place Phase 1 buildings.
