Geotechnical investigation for the Civic Core Campus mixed-use civic development — subsurface borings and foundation/pavement recommendations.
Scope
Geotechnical investigation for the Civic Core Campus mixed-use civic development — subsurface borings and foundation/pavement recommendations.
Site Challenge
A mixed-use civic campus combines buildings, plazas and pavements on one site, so the investigation had to support foundation design for the structures and pavement design for the surrounding roads and parking at the same time.
Work Performed
Quartet Engineers drilled subsurface borings across the Civic Core Campus site, logged and sampled the soils, and tested them in its A2LA-accredited laboratory. The engineering team used the results to develop foundation recommendations for the buildings and pavement recommendations for the site's roads and parking areas.
Deliverables
A sealed geotechnical engineering report with boring logs, laboratory results, foundation recommendations and pavement section recommendations for the Civic Core Campus.
